HTC Fuze tips up on AT&T
After repeated leaks, AT&T today finally but quietly launched the HTC Fuze. The carrier's adaptation of the Touch Pro brings a customized version of HTC's TouchFLO interface with an AT&T icon as well as support for several of AT&T's services over its tri-band HSPA Internet access, including HBO Mobile video as well as Napster Mobile and XM Radio for music purchases and Internet radio streams.
The Windows Mobile phone is otherwise very similar to HTC's reference version and touts a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and an especially sharp 640x480, 2.8-inch display sitting above its slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Unlike the fixed-in-place storage of the Touch Diamond, the Fuze and Touch Pro use removable microSD for holding the bulk o its content.
AT&T treats the Fuze as a premium smartphone and sells it for $300 with a two-year contract and a rebate. Those opting for a contract-free version can also pick it up for $500. Shipments should already be in stores today.
